Ascension provides a direct experience
In the First Sphere course, teaching the basics of the Art of Ascension, we talk about the Source, the Master Architect of the Universe. One of the by-products of using the Ascension Attitudes re-orients our life, building a connection with the Creator, the Source that is often ignored by being so involved in the doing of life.
In my “religious” life, before Ascension, I learned all about the characteristics of God. However, I came to realize that “learning about” has a much different impact on my life than having a direct experience!
In my earlier, religious life, through long and deep prayer, I actually had a few direct experiences. While they were powerful, they were rare. What I found with Ascension was something that gave me a regular, repeatable method to have direct experiences of the Master Architect. In innocence, by using the techniques, by attending retreats, by furthering the practice, this awareness began to build.
The Master Architect of the Universe can create anything and change anything. The Source lies beyond time and space. It creates from itself, distributing its stardust into the created sphere. So, everything we see comes from this stardust.
Example of Connecting to the Master Architect
I ran across a story in the news about a woman who lived with HIV for 15 years. Although she never took medicine, the disease never progressed to AIDS! (To be clear, she is not part of the population that has a mutation in the CCR5 gene that prevents progression of HIV to AIDS).
Kaplan was raised Jewish, but follows no formal religion now. However, she prays and meditates daily. She believes God keeps the virus at bay and that her faith is the reason she’s alive today.
“Everything starts from a thought, and then the thought creates a reaction,” Kaplan says. “And I have the power to control my mind before it gets to a physical level or an emotional level.”
Her story came to light when a study began to target the patient’s relationship with God to predict how fast the disease would progress. Ironson watched two key indicators. She watched the amount of AIDS virus versus how many immune fighters were present. Ironson found that those who turned to God after their diagnosis had a much lower viral load. She also found they maintained those powerful immune cells at a much higher rate than those who did not turn to God.
Using the practice of the Art of Ascension has many by-products. One by-product is awareness of deeper levels of the mind by moving the mind inward. This is where our relationship with God, the Source, the Intelligence of the Universe begins. I call that the Master Architect. As Kaplan describes, one can redirect the mind toward the Source of all love (and in turn health) even when one may notice thoughts based in fear.
